Shorelines Belleville Casino

Belleville, Ontario

Owner: Great Canadian Gaming Corporation

Project value: $30 million CAD

Completed: Spring 2017

Architect: Chris Dikeakos Architects, Inc.

Through an initiative by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) in 2012, the organization made a commitment to modernize their aging gaming system, processes and facilities. In fall 2015, Great Canadian Gaming was awarded the first of seven management and modernization “bundles” by OLG for the East Gaming Bundle. Part of this bundle included a ground up facility in the city of Belleville and Municipality of Quinte West.

In December 2015, our team was awarded construction management of Shorelines Belleville Casino. After a few months of preconstruction, design evaluations and preparations, construction began in April 2016.

To begin, our team completed scoping and oversaw procurement for all the construction work while maximizing local trades when possible. While our team developed the schedule, we are also managing it throughout construction to ensure it meets the completion date. Additionally, with our depth of experience, our team is lending insights to the budget control and overseeing safety on the project. This once wooded lot received new site utilities, infrastructure, new entries off the main road and will have new parking lots and landscaping to support the facility.

The end result will be a new 47,000 sq. ft. facility with 400 slot machines, approximately 22 table games as well as a VIP area. Visitors will be greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows at the entry and porte-cochere, and interior designs will complement the natural surroundings. In addition to the gaming space, the facility will also feature a restaurant, live entertainment space with room for up to 250 people, a bar/lounge and additional amenities. Additionally, to maximize space, the indoor/outdoor stage will open up to an outdoor patio to accommodate concerts.
